Gretchen received her Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Literature from UC San Diego in 1987 before earning a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy at Columbia University in 1990. She worked for several years in Home Health and Skilled Nursing Facilities addressing the mobility needs of temporarily and chronically disabled adults. She then spent more than 20 years in the acute care hospital setting, specializing in the rehabilitative care of patients in cardiac, neurologic, orthopedic, post op, and intensive care units.
At PT Works, Gretchen works closely with patients to establish meaningful goals and effective home exercise programs to help restore clients to their full potential. She enjoys working with patients of all ages and backgrounds, and has focused much of her continuing education on treating geriatric patients, with an emphasis on neurologic and orthopedic disorders. She is also fluent in Spanish.
Gretchen grew up in the Bay Area and lived in San Francisco, New York City and Barcelona. When she is not at PT Works, Gretchen enjoys hiking, camping, gardening, yoga, being near the ocean, and raising service dogs with her family.
